What I gain from this hymn:
This hymn gives me a very special inspiration. Thinking back the Pharisees didn't have a humble heart to listen to what the Lord Jesus spoke in the sermon, they didn't seek whether He was the prophesied Messiah. What's more, they nailed Jesus to the cross by using the excuse of breaking the laws. Finally, they were punished by offending God's disposition. In the last days, the Lord Jesus will return. We have to integrate the lessons of past failures and pray and seek in all things that we encounter in order to avoid committing evil.
